Voltage and frequency monitoring

Electrical safety for private electricity generation systems

More and more energy providers are supplying electrical power to the public low voltage grid through CHPs (Combined Heat and Power Plants) as well as wind, hydro and photovoltaic systems. A voltage and frequency monitoring for mains decoupling of private electricity generation systems > 30 kW is required acc. to DIN V VDE V 0126-1-1.

For this application, Bender offers the VMD423/VMD423H series three-phase voltage and frequency monitoring relays.

Mode of operation

The three-phase voltage relays monitor the voltage and frequency in 3AC/3NAC 400 V systems. They trigger an alarm relay within 180 ms of exceeding or undershooting the freely definable limit values (response values acc. to VDEW guidelines).

The alarm relay is activated if, over a period of ten minutes, the average value measured is an overvoltage. The response values are preset acc. to DIN V VDE V 0126-1-1.

Essential device features

  • E.ON, ENBW, RWE and Vattenfall listed
  • High level of safety for operators of private electricity generation systems
  • Response values preset in compliance with the applicable standards allow fast commissioning
  • Information clearly shown on a large LC display
